Your branding expert and photographer bestie, ready to help you show up authentically in your business and stand out with your unique edge.
Some pivots come with spreadsheets, launch plans, and detailed roadmaps. Others? They show up as a quiet whisper you weren’t expecting during your morning coffee. A holy nudge that says, “It’s time”… even if nothing in your current world makes logical sense yet.
Yep. That was me in the early days of Your Brand Compass.
Before I knew a single thing about “brand strategy,” I was a teacher for 12 years. Chalkboards, lesson plans, staff meetings… the whole thing. It wasn’t just a job; it was a calling. But as seasons shift, so do callings. God began stirring something new.
So I picked up a camera. What started as a creative outlet became a full-blown photography business. It brought me joy and purpose… until suddenly, it didn’t. Bookings slowed. Momentum stalled. And I found myself asking the hard question: Did I mishear God?
Spoiler alert: I didn’t. It was just a holy plot twist.
Let’s get real: it was not Pinterest-perfect.
There were months of saying no to offers that didn’t align, even when I needed the money. Including road blocks and detours like imposter syndrome and uncertainty. The late nights wondering if I’d misunderstood God were unsettling.
But along the way, God dropped breadcrumbs:
None of that was part of my “plan.” But it was perfectly timed provision for the pivot I was being asked to make.
One of the biggest myths in business is that clarity has to come before you move. But if you’re walking by faith? Obedience usually comes first. Clarity tends to catch up.
As I leaned into real branding (the kind that centers identity and mission, not just logos) I realized this wasn’t about building a business. It was about building resonance. Heart over hype. Truth over trend. Serving over selling.
“You’re not pivoting away from something. You’re pivoting into alignment.” ~ Jen (Your Brand Compass)
When I stopped striving and started trusting, Your Brand Compass was born and continued to evolve. Now, I help purpose-driven women do the same: build brands that reflect the clarity God is stirring inside them.
Because I’ve been in the fog. I know what it’s like to feel out of sync with the mission you were given. I know what it’s like to wrestle with reinvention. To wonder if anyone will get it.
And now? I help women step into brands that finally make sense… to them and their audience.
